VOLUNTEER AT THE ZOO!
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE !
Do have a love for animals? Would you like to get involved
with conservation? Are you interested in learning more about
how zoos run?
If so, you might want to sign up to volunteer at the zoo. We
are currently scheduling interviews for the following
volunteer positions:
Docents - (ages 19 and up) Docents are specially
trained volunteer educators who teach zoo guests fun facts
about our animals
and wildlife conservation through the use of biofacts,
interactives, and live animals.
Junior Docents - (ages 14 - 18) Just like our docent
program,
this opportunity allows high school students to interact
with zoo guests while teaching them about the zoo's
collection.
Students will be trained in public speaking and animal
handling.
Interns - College students can volunteer in several zoo
departments to see what it's really like to work at a zoo.
We are accepting intern applications for the following
postions: Education, Media. Animal Care, and Veterinary
Technicians.
Please send a cover letter and resume to the contact
information below to set up an interview.
Students may earn internship credits for college curriculum
if permitted by their school.
Children's Center - (ages 14 and up) Would you like a chance
to learn how to help care for zoo animals?
Sign up to volunteer in the Children's Center and learn how
our staff cares for the Children's Center animal collection.
Assist our Children's Center attendants while they clean,
feed, and care for the zoo's domestic collection.
Maintenance - (ages 18 and up) Are you handy? Do you like to
fix things?
If so, you might want to consider assisting the zoo's
maintenance department while they keep the zoo in tip-top
shape.
YOU CAN BE A PART OF ALL THIS !
