PARKING:
The Zoo’s free parking lot is located at the corner of Martling Avenue and Clove Road. Street parking is also available on Broadway.
BUS
From Brooklyn:
Take the S-53 bus which originates in Bay Ridge at 86th Street and 4th Avenue (near the BMT subway) exit at the Broadway/Clove Road stop. Walk to the Clove Road entrance.
FERRY
From Staten Island Ferry:
Take the S-48 bus at the Ferry Terminal on Staten Island. Exit at the intersection of Forest Avenue and Clove Road. Turn left on Clove Road and walk 4 1/2 blocks to the Zoo entrance.
CAR OR SCHOOL BUS:
Via the Verrazano Narrows Bridge:
Follow I-278 West to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn right onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you. Free parking is on your right.
Via the Bayonne Bridge:
Follow Route 440 South to I-278. Proceed east on I-278 to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn left onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you.
Via the Goethals Bridge:
Follow I-278 East to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn left onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you.
Via the Outerbridge Crossing:
Follow Route 440 North to I-278. Proceed east on I-278 to the Slosson Avenue exit. Turn left onto Slosson. Proceed to Martling Avenue. Turn right and continue to Clove Road. The Zoo’s entrance will be ahead of you.

When do birthday parties take place?Birthday parties are held year-round on Saturdays and Sundays. We have two different time slots, 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm

How far in advance do I have to schedule a party?You have to schedule your party no less than three weeks before.

Can I bring my own decorations?Yes, although balloons are not permitted in the Zoo. Balloons are a hazard to our animals and the environment. You can bring other decorations but you will only have 15 minutes before your party to set up.

What happens if it rains?The party will still go on unless the Zoo is closed for severe inclement weather meaning State of Emergency.

What is the maximum number of people?The maximum number of people is 40.

How much earlier can we arrive?You can arrive no more than 15 minutes before the start of your party to the party area.

What is included with the party?Five cheese pizzas from a local pizzeria, 24 juice boxes, 32 invitations, plates, napkins, forks. You may bring nonalcoholic beverages for the adults. You will need to bring your own cups.

Can I bring my own food?You can bring snacks, (chips, candy, fruit/vegetable platter). You can bring a cooler filled with ice and non-alcoholic beverages. Please note that you will need to bring your own cups. Additionally, you have the option to order extra cheese or pepperoni pies for $17 and $22 respectively.

Can I wait until people RSVP to order pizza?Yes, you can contact the Zoo up until the Thursday before your party to order extra pizza.

When is payment due?We require a $100 non-refundable deposit when scheduling and payment is due three weeks in advance.

What is the cancellation policy?The $100 deposit in nonrefundable.

Can I bring my own cake?Yes, we do not provide a cake for the party.

Do you have a refrigerator or freezer for the cake?No, we do not have a refrigerator or freezer for the cake. Please do not bring an ice cream cake.

What animals are available to be presented?We have snakes, lizards, turtles, chinchillas, rabbits, and armadillos.

Can I choose which animals are presented?The animals are chosen by the instructor the morning of your party based on availability. You can make a request for animals not to be shown if you have a fear or allergy.

What is the itinerary of the party?Your party comes with an instructor who will do a craft with the children, then present three different animals, everyone in your party gets a ride on the carousel and then return to the party area where you will eat pizza and have cake.
